CLASSICAL FENG SHUI
AN EXAMPLE OF A FENG SHUI ANALYSIS AND FURNITURE MOOD BOARD BASED ON THE FENG SHUI RECOMMENDATIONS
Classical Feng Shui is the art and science of analysing the Qi (vital energy) in a specific location and time, to create a harmonious and balanced environment. It can help to promote physical health, emotional well-being and prosperity for each of the occupants. Feng Shui analyses the impact of a place on a person through the space, time and orientation of the building.
Translating as the words wind and water, Feng and Shui are the two natural flowing forces carrying vital energy (Qi) to the environment. However each of the five elements; fire, earth, metal, water and wood, all present their own characteristics, interacting with one another and influencing different aspects of people’s lives. In Feng Shui the interaction of the five elements is used to boost the positive Qi and correct the weak.
The Classical Feng Shui principles of time, orientation, space, layout, colours and materials, all influence the selection and placement of every component within the environment, with the final energetic map aligned for optimal flow.

The images below show an example of a Feng Shui (FS) analysis which has been used to influence the choice of furniture, art and colour scheme throughout. Here the remedy for the bedroom, located in the East is fire. Therefore accent colours of red in the wall colouring, art work and in a bedside candle, are used to incorporate the fire remedy. Each of the other elements have been combined to further enhance it.
